The National Firearms Commerce and Trafficking Assessment (NFCTA) is an examination of commerce in firearms in the United States and the diversion of firearms to illegal markets, produced by experts from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF). Volume II of the NFCTA, titled Crime Gun Intelligence and Analysis, is a comprehensive report that focuses on crime guns that jeopardize the safety and security of Americans. Using a compilation of data, information, and expert analysis relating to crime guns recovered by law enforcement during domestic and international investigations, this report helps set the precedent for research in firearms violence.
