The Miller Center on Policing and Community Resilience Welcomes Senior Policy Advisor Jim Nestor

Jim is a nationally-recognized authority on all facets of officer wellness and has developed a 40-hour intensive course to train members of the first responder community in providing peer-to-peer assistance to their co-workers.

Last week Jim coordinated with Rob Czepiel, CEO-Resilient Minds On The Front Lines, Gary Holden, Chaplain Program Director, and William Mazur, Public Safety Liaison, Acadia Healthcare, Deputy Chief, Atlantic City PD, NJ (Ret.), to work with a group of Ocean City, NJ First Responders using the newly-developed course material.

The Miller Center’s focus on continuing education for evidence-based standardized training and development of Peer Support Programs for First Responders aligns with the IACP’s Pillars for Future Policing, Behavioral Health and Peer Assistance.
