Rutgers in Brussels

Rutgers recently published a news article that discusses how a team of international experts from the university has been working in Brussels to conduct research to develop and implement best practices for protecting vulnerable populations by creating and strengthening ties between the community and law enforcement.  By conducting interviews, the Rutgers team has found that to combat violent extremism, both the community and police need to have continuous engagement with each other.  Their findings in Brussels can serve as an example of how communities and law enforcement agencies can prevent and handle similar threats in Europe, the United States, and other similar communities.
