Spring 2018 Interns

The COP is excited to welcome three new interns this Spring: Alysse Vindeed, Peter Lu, Sowmya Srinivasan, and Alexa Rivera.  They will be helping to support various projects we’re working on including the Consent Decree, Smart Prosecution, and also writing our newsletters and website content.  Please read a brief introduction from each of them below.

Alysse Vindeed: “As a Rutgers graduate student in the Master’s of Business and Science program, my interest lies in data analyzation and the application of GIS. In the future, I would like to utilize my data and mapping skillset to aid law enforcement and the homeless population.

In my spare time I enjoy hiking, gardening, and reading. My latest goal is to hike every major national park. So far I’ve hit: Arches, Cayonlands, the Grand Canyon, and Arcadia national parks.”

Peter Lu: “I am a Senior at Rutgers University majoring in Information Technology and Informatics and minoring in Economics and Critical Intelligence Studies. My future aspiration is to become an Information Security expert to help those who can’t defend themselves from the growing threats in cyberspace. I’ve had IT experience working for KPMG’s Cybersecurity Incident Response Team (CSIRT) and Desk Side Services (DSS) where I supported IT infrastructure and users at the Montvale Headquarters. Furthermore, I worked at Rutgers Office of Information Technology supporting the students, faculty and staff communities with their IT needs.

I am passionate about martial arts, food, Star Wars, and landscaping.”

Sowmya Srinivasan: “Hi, my name is Sowmya Srinivasan, and currently, I am in my sophomore year of pursuing a double major in information technology and informatics and economics, I also plan on minoring in DCIM. My main interests in the Information Technology field are encryption, which is in the cybersecurity field. I also find project management to be an interesting field as well. In the future, I would love to utilize my IT background as well as my economics background to work in the banking sector to provide security and to solve ongoing encryption issues. In my free time, I enjoy binge-watching shows on Netflix and playing the ukulele.”

Alexa Rivera: “I am a senior majoring in Communication, specializing in strategic communication and minoring in Digital Communication, Information, and Media. I am an aspiring integrated marketing professional. I have an interest in content marketing and would love to utilize my skills at a firm designing public relations and marketing campaigns. Currently, I am working on several co-curricular projects involving campaign design and content marketing production. In my spare time, I enjoy macrame, watercolor painting, and photography.”
